The St. Louis Small Press Expo is St. Louis’s premier annual indie-print showcase, bringing together self published books, comics, zines, literature magazines, poetry, and more. The St. Louis Small Press Expo 2019 will take place August 17th. This will be the 6th annual expo, and the 5th to be held at the St. Louis Public Library’s Central Library. The event features over 50 local and regional vendors as well as special guests from other parts of the world. Throughout the event, there are panels, presentations, and workshops in the library’s side rooms. The expo is free and open to the public. We are accepting vendor submissions on our website stlspex.com through June 1st.

The event will be the first expo organized by a new team of volunteer organizers. This new team is striving to make the expo bigger and better than ever, while respecting the spirit of the past expos and the event’s strong foundations. We are hoping to bring in more special guests, form new partnerships, and do more promotion in hopes of making the event as far-reaching as possible, which will, in turn, support the work of our vendors. In keeping with these ideas of change and continuity, this year’s theme is Turning Over a New Leaf. Our promotional illustration was created by JJ Mcluckie, who has exhibited at the expo in the past.

“We believe that St. Louis has a uniquely thriving small press community, and it is our goal to stimulate that community and provide further resources to local authors and artists. We feel strongly that the St. Louis Small Press Expo has equal importance to similar events in other parts of the world.” said expo organizer Brandon Daniels.

The new STLSPEX team is David Wolk, Teddy Key, Rachel Linn, Maria Cassilly, Max Cassilly, and Brandon Daniels. Join us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter using @stlspex and #STLSPEX.
